| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Milan Narayan has ably served his fellow Texans as |

| 6 | 6 | | an intern in the office of State Representative Gene Wu during the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 88th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Narayan has provided |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | including tracking and analyzing legislation regarding firearms; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | service, he has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A student in the Plan II Honors Program at The |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Narayan is majoring in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | government and plans to earn a certificate in applied statistical |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | modeling; deeply committed to combating gun violence, he was the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | vice president of his school's chapter of Students Demand Action |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and helped write an op-ed in the Houston Chronicle in the wake of a |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | shooting at his high school; he is an alumnus of the ACLU Advocacy |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Institute and a former Fellow at the Johns Hopkins Summer Youth |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Institute, and he has previously interned with Houston city council |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | member Abbie Kamin and in the offices of State Representatives Ann |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Johnson and Ron Reynolds; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Milan Narayan has performed his duties as a |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, |
