| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Bobbi Arthur is being recognized for her 30 years of |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | dedicated service as supervisor of the Haltom City Senior Center in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2023; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Arthur first joined the Haltom City Senior |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Center in April 1993, and over the course of her tenure, she has |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | worked tirelessly to promote awareness of the center's programs |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | and the many resources available to older adults and their families |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | in Tarrant County; under her leadership, the facility offers a wide |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | variety of classes and activities, including art and fitness |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | classes, as well as meals Monday through Friday; it also hosts |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | special events and holiday celebrations throughout the year; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Active in her professional community, Mrs. Arthur |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | has served on the Texas Association of Aging Programs board, the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Area Agency on Aging of Tarrant County board, the Haltom City Senior |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Task Force, and the Haltom City Volunteer Service Board; moreover, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | she chaired the 2009 Texas Conference on Aging, and she also helped |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | establish the Northeast Senior Jamboree and the social |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | transportation program, Friends Helping Friends; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Arthur began her career as a nurse's aide at a |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | nursing home in Lake Milton, Ohio, in 1979, shortly after |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | graduating from high school; she moved to Texas in 1981 and earned |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | certification as a nursing home activity director through Tarrant |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | County College, and she worked as a nursing home activity and social |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | services coordinator for more than a decade before joining the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Haltom City center; in all her endeavors, she enjoys the love and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | support of her husband, Delbert, as well as her three daughters, |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Tiffany, Lisa, and Amy, and her five grandchildren, Robert, Kaia, |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Casio, Covie, and Sophie; and |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | WHEREAS, Passionate about helping make the lives of area |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | seniors happier and healthier, Bobbi Arthur has had a positive and |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | lasting impact in her community, and she may reflect with pride on |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | her many accomplishments as she celebrates this special milestone |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | in her career; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | Legislature hereby commend Bobbi Arthur for her three decades of |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | outstanding service to the Haltom City Senior Center and extend to |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
