| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The 2023 American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup is |

| 6 | 6 | | taking place from June 29 through July 8 in Bryan/College Station; |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, First held in 1979, the Youth World Cup is an |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | educational, leadership, and competition-based event for American |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Quarter Horse Association youth members from around the globe; it |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | is conducted every two years by a different country, with the host |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | nation providing horses for a 16-team field; participants compete |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | in cutting, reining, horsemanship, ranch riding, trail, western |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | riding, hunt seat equitation, hunter under saddle, and showmanship |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | events, and the schedule also includes clinics and team-building |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | activities; and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, For the 2023 Youth World Cup, Team USA is providing |

| 18 | 18 | | the horses, facility, and volunteers; team members include Brooke |

| 19 | 19 | | Jolstad, Taylor Allen, Blakely Abbott, Lily Corbin, Lauren Pursley, |

| 20 | 20 | | Elizabeth Marmor, Sydney Sargent, Rosemary Hartman, Jaymee |

| 21 | 21 | | Carruth, and Violet Shetler, who hail from across the nation; these |

| 22 | 22 | | talented young people benefit from the able direction of coach |

| 23 | 23 | | Nancy Cahill and manager Michelle Tidwell; and |

| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The American quarter horse holds a special place in |

| 25 | 25 | | the culture and history of Texas cattle ranching, horse racing, and |

| 26 | 26 | | rodeo, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in welcoming the American |
