| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Megan Rojas of Lyndon B. Johnson Middle School in |

| 6 | 6 | | the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District has been |

| 7 | 7 | | invited to attend the Education in Action Lone Star Leadership |

| 8 | 8 | | Academy during the summer of 2023; and |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the nonprofit organization Education in |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Action hosts weeklong summer camps for exceptional students in the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | fourth through eighth grades; participants are able to acquire |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | valuable leadership skills, develop friendships with peers from |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | across the state, and learn more about Texas history, geography, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | science, and government; in addition, they are provided with |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | opportunities to tour historically significant destinations in one |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | of Texas' three largest metropolitan areas; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Rojas is currently a seventh-grade student at |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | LBJ Middle School, and she will be attending the Lone Star |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Leadership Academy summer camp in Austin; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Megan Rojas has distinguished herself as a young |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | leader of great promise, and she may indeed take justifiable pride |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in being chosen to participate in this exciting experience; now, |

| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Megan Rojas on her selection to |
