44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Megan Rojas of Lyndon B. Johnson Middle School in
66 the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District has been
77 invited to attend the Education in Action Lone Star Leadership
88 Academy during the summer of 2023; and
99 WHEREAS, Each year, the nonprofit organization Education in
1010 Action hosts weeklong summer camps for exceptional students in the
1111 fourth through eighth grades; participants are able to acquire
1212 valuable leadership skills, develop friendships with peers from
1313 across the state, and learn more about Texas history, geography,
1414 science, and government; in addition, they are provided with
1515 opportunities to tour historically significant destinations in one
1616 of Texas' three largest metropolitan areas; and
1717 WHEREAS, Ms. Rojas is currently a seventh-grade student at
1818 LBJ Middle School, and she will be attending the Lone Star
1919 Leadership Academy summer camp in Austin; and
2020 WHEREAS, Megan Rojas has distinguished herself as a young
2121 leader of great promise, and she may indeed take justifiable pride
2222 in being chosen to participate in this exciting experience; now,
2323 therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2525 Legislature hereby congratulate Megan Rojas on her selection to
2626 participate in the 2023 Education in Action Lone Star Leadership
2727 Academy and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and,
2828 be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for Ms. Rojas as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3131 House of Representatives.
