H.R. No. 1571
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Muhammad Zubeir Noorani of McAllen has
distinguished himself as a member of the first cohort of Luminary
Scholars at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley; and
WHEREAS, This noteworthy scholarship program covers tuition
and fees for four years of undergraduate education as well as
additional years of professional or graduate studies; the program
was unveiled in 2021 with the goal of improving student success and
increasing educational opportunities; and
WHEREAS, To earn selection as a Luminary Scholar, students
must demonstrate exceptional academic ability, responsibility and
leadership, and community involvement while in high school, and
participants also commit to working in the Rio Grande Valley
following their graduation; enrolled in the Vaqueros MD program,
Mr. Noorani is currently studying economics and finance at UTRGV;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout his academic career, Muhammad Zubeir
Noorani has displayed admirable dedication and perseverance in the
pursuit of his goals, and he may indeed reflect with great pride on
his outstanding record of achievement; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Muhammad Zubeir Noorani for his
accomplishments as a Luminary Scholar at The University of Texas
Rio Grande Valley and extend to him sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Noorani as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
