| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, GSM Insurors is celebrating its centennial in 2023, |

| 6 | 6 | | and this occasion offers a welcome opportunity to recognize the |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | history and accomplishments of this venerable enterprise; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, GSM Insurors was founded by Theodore Johnson, the |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | president of the First National Bank of Rockport, as the Rockport |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Insurance Agency; the first company of its kind in the area, the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | agency served the interests of shipbuilders, ranchers, merchants, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and businesses on the Texas coast; Mr. Johnson's son-in-law John |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | McDavid Sr. joined the agency in 1953; in 1991, his grandson John |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | McDavid Jr. took over the company, and he continues to serve as CEO |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | today; in recent years, his sons Travis, Blake, and Patrick McDavid |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | became the fourth generation in the family to serve the agency in |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | leadership roles; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Incorporated as Glass Sorenson & McDavid Inc., the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | company was a founding partner of The Insurors Group, which has |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | operated under the name GSM Insurors since the late 1990s; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | headquartered in Rockport, this independent agency operates |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | offices across the Lone Star State, and it partners with national |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | and regional insurance companies to offer a range of personal and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | business insurance services; GSM Insurors has been recognized as |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | one of the Top 50 Brokers of U.S. Business Insurance by Business |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Insurance magazine and as one of the Top 20 Agency Partnerships in |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | the nation by Insurance Journal; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Over the past century, GSM Insurors has provided |

| 29 | 29 | | jobs and valuable services to Texas communities, and it stands as an |

| 30 | 30 | | inspiring example of the success that can be realized by |

| 31 | 31 | | hardworking entrepreneurs in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, |
