| 6 | 6 | | psychological sciences at Rice University, is the recipient of a |

| 7 | 7 | | 2023 CAREER Award from the Faculty Early Career Development Program |

| 8 | 8 | | of the National Science Foundation; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Among the most prestigious honors conferred by NSF, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | CAREER Awards include five-year grants to support early-career |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | faculty who exemplify the highest ideals of their profession and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | who work to advance their organization's mission; each year, NSF |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | presents only about 500 awards across all disciplines; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Dr. King was selected to receive a CAREER award for |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | her research on race-based threats and their impact on employees' |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | mental health and well-being; her project will focus on exploring |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the potential of using organizational resources to effectively |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | address the harm caused by race-based threats and promote workplace |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | resilience; and |

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, An alumna of Spelman College, Dr. King holds a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | master's degree and a Ph.D. in organizational psychology from |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Michigan State University; she has been a member of the faculty at |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Rice University since 2018; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Through her outstanding work at Rice University, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Danielle King has distinguished herself as an inspiring leader and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | an innovative researcher, and she may reflect with pride on this |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | well-deserved recognition; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Danielle King on receiving a 2023 |
