 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Meghna Kumar of Argyle High School achieved great
 distinction by winning the 5A singles championship at the 2023
 University Interscholastic League Tennis State Tournament; and
 WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school players in Texas
 on April 25 and 26 in San Antonio, Ms. Kumar delivered an
 exceptional performance; dominating her opponents as she advanced
 through the bracket, she won her quarterfinal and semifinal matches
 in straight sets over opponents from Friendswood and Boerne
 Champion High Schools; squaring off against Frisco Wakeland High
 School's Ella Wertz in the final, she secured a commanding 6-1, 6-2
 victory to clinch the title and end a storybook season in which she
 didn't lose a single set; and
 WHEREAS, With the championship victory, Ms. Kumar collected
 her second straight singles state title after earning the 2021-2022
 Class 4A crown, the first in school history; she also helped the
 Eagles advance to the 2021 Team Tennis State Tournament, where the
 squad claimed the 4A silver medal; she is ably guided by Argyle
 coaches Danielle Blair and Adam Mihok; and
 WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for
 high school tennis players, Meghna Kumar has ably represented her
 school and community, and she will cherish her memories of this
 outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Meghna Kumar on winning the 2023
 UIL 5A girls' singles tennis state championship and extend to her
 sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Kumar as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
