44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
66 of Fred Arthur Henson of Madisonville, who passed away on April 17,
77 2023, at the age of 72; and
88 WHEREAS, The son of Arthur and Barbara Henson, Fred Henson
99 was born in Denison on July 21, 1950, and grew up with two siblings,
1010 Jeanne and David; he graduated from Klein High School in 1968; and
1111 WHEREAS, Mr. Henson embarked upon a long and rewarding career
1212 in the automotive industry when he joined the staff of the parts
1313 department at Ford Chevrolet in Tomball; in 1993, he founded Henson
1414 Family Dealerships, which grew to become a multi-dealership
1515 corporation; he had other successful entrepreneurial endeavors as
1616 well, and in all of his professional pursuits, he inspired his
1717 colleagues with his work ethic and his drive; and
1818 WHEREAS, A leader in his community, Mr. Henson served on
1919 numerous boards and committees, including the First National Bank
2020 of Huntsville board of directors, and in 2004, he was named Madison
2121 County Man of the Year; he was a supporter of the Madison County
2222 Fair Association, the Texas High School Rodeo Association, the
2323 Texas A&M University equestrian program, and the local FFA, along
2424 with many other area youth activities; sustained by a strong faith,
2525 he attended Crossroads Cowboy Church, where he was on the pastor
2626 search committee, and he also volunteered on several committees at
2727 First Baptist Church in Madisonville; and
2828 WHEREAS, Mr. Henson shared more than three decades with his
2929 wife, Liz, and he took great pride in his four children, Stefanie,
3030 Rebecca, Rachel, and Justin; with the passing years, his family
3131 grew to include six grandchildren, Erin, Kaylee, Jacob, Colin,
3232 Cora, and Hardy; in his leisure time, he enjoyed racing cars and
3333 working in his barn; and
3434 WHEREAS, An engaged citizen, a devoted family man, and a
3535 successful entrepreneur, Fred Henson lived a full and generous
3636 life, and he leaves behind a legacy that will long be remembered by
3737 all those who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it
3838 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3939 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Fred Arthur Henson
4040 and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his
4141 wife, Elizabeth Henson; to his children, Stefanie Maslowski and her
4242 husband, Nick, Rebecca Moutray and her husband, Chris, Rachel
4343 Henson, and Justin Henson and his wife, D'Lynn; to his
4444 grandchildren, Erin McKinney, Kaylee McKinney, Jacob Hull, Colin
4545 Moutray, Cora Moutray, and Hardy Henson; to his mother, Barbara
4646 Henson; to his siblings, Jeanne Thames and her husband, Buddy, and
4747 David Henson and his wife, Darlene; and to his other relatives and
4848 friends; and, be it further
4949 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
5050 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
5151 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Fred
5252 Henson.
