5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |
---|
6 | 6 | | of Fred Arthur Henson of Madisonville, who passed away on April 17, |
---|
7 | 7 | | 2023, at the age of 72; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The son of Arthur and Barbara Henson, Fred Henson |
---|
9 | 9 | | was born in Denison on July 21, 1950, and grew up with two siblings, |
---|
10 | 10 | | Jeanne and David; he graduated from Klein High School in 1968; and |
---|
11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Henson embarked upon a long and rewarding career |
---|
12 | 12 | | in the automotive industry when he joined the staff of the parts |
---|
13 | 13 | | department at Ford Chevrolet in Tomball; in 1993, he founded Henson |
---|
14 | 14 | | Family Dealerships, which grew to become a multi-dealership |
---|
15 | 15 | | corporation; he had other successful entrepreneurial endeavors as |
---|
16 | 16 | | well, and in all of his professional pursuits, he inspired his |
---|
17 | 17 | | colleagues with his work ethic and his drive; and |
---|
18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, A leader in his community, Mr. Henson served on |
---|
19 | 19 | | numerous boards and committees, including the First National Bank |
---|
20 | 20 | | of Huntsville board of directors, and in 2004, he was named Madison |
---|
21 | 21 | | County Man of the Year; he was a supporter of the Madison County |
---|
22 | 22 | | Fair Association, the Texas High School Rodeo Association, the |
---|
23 | 23 | | Texas A&M University equestrian program, and the local FFA, along |
---|
24 | 24 | | with many other area youth activities; sustained by a strong faith, |
---|
25 | 25 | | he attended Crossroads Cowboy Church, where he was on the pastor |
---|
26 | 26 | | search committee, and he also volunteered on several committees at |
---|
27 | 27 | | First Baptist Church in Madisonville; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Henson shared more than three decades with his |
---|
29 | 29 | | wife, Liz, and he took great pride in his four children, Stefanie, |
---|
30 | 30 | | Rebecca, Rachel, and Justin; with the passing years, his family |
---|
31 | 31 | | grew to include six grandchildren, Erin, Kaylee, Jacob, Colin, |
---|
32 | 32 | | Cora, and Hardy; in his leisure time, he enjoyed racing cars and |
---|
33 | 33 | | working in his barn; and |
---|
34 | 34 | | WHEREAS, An engaged citizen, a devoted family man, and a |
---|
35 | 35 | | successful entrepreneur, Fred Henson lived a full and generous |
---|
36 | 36 | | life, and he leaves behind a legacy that will long be remembered by |
---|
37 | 37 | | all those who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it |
---|
38 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
39 | 39 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Fred Arthur Henson |
---|
40 | 40 | | and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his |

41 | 41 | | wife, Elizabeth Henson; to his children, Stefanie Maslowski and her |

42 | 42 | | husband, Nick, Rebecca Moutray and her husband, Chris, Rachel |

43 | 43 | | Henson, and Justin Henson and his wife, D'Lynn; to his |

44 | 44 | | grandchildren, Erin McKinney, Kaylee McKinney, Jacob Hull, Colin |
