| 6 | 6 | | on May 10, 2023, and this occasion provides a welcome opportunity to |

| 7 | 7 | | celebrate the new PGA of America complex in Frisco, a mecca for golf |

| 8 | 8 | | lovers; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Observed each year on May 10, National Golf Day |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | celebrates the sport that dates back to 15th-century Scotland; the |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | day serves as a means of encouraging novice and amateur competitors |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | to dust off their clubs and hit the course; it also highlights the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | sport's many positive benefits for individuals and communities and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | focuses attention on the efforts made in recent years to make golf |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | more inclusive, accessible, and affordable for all; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, PGA Frisco, which opened in 2022, is the result of an |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | innovative public-private agreement between the association, the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | City of Frisco, and other local stakeholders; serving as the |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | organization's headquarters, the complex encompasses two |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | championship golf courses and a short course, and it will host |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | several PGA championship tournaments, with the KitchenAid Senior |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | PGA Championship taking place in May 2023; moreover, PGA Frisco |

| 23 | 23 | | features an education center for associates working toward PGA |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | membership and advanced coaching and practice facilities, and it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | anchors an important mixed-use development for the city; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Whether enjoyed by players or as a spectator sport, |

| 27 | 27 | | golf is beloved by a multitude of enthusiasts across the Lone Star |

| 28 | 28 | | State and around the globe, and PGA Frisco promises to be a vibrant |

| 29 | 29 | | hub for the pastime in the decades ahead; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby celebrate the opening of the PGA of America |

| 32 | 32 | | complex in Frisco on the occasion of National Golf Day 2023; and, be |
