| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, For more than a century, a day has been set aside |

| 6 | 6 | | each year to honor those very special women among us, the mothers |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | who brought us into this world, protected us, and taught us how to |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | make our way, and on May 14, 2023, Texans and indeed all Americans |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | will join in celebrating Mother's Day in the United States; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, It is fitting that Mother's Day should be observed |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in the spring, when we see evidence of nature's renewal all around |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | us; mothers give life, and they give unconditional love, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | encouraging their sons and daughters to work hard and to follow |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | their dreams; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, On this meaningful day, we pay tribute to mothers |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | for their determination to give their children the keys to a bright |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and promising future; resourceful and fearless in looking out for |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | their loved ones of all ages, they are heroes in every sense of the |
|---|

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Motherhood has been called "the toughest job you'll |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | ever love," for it encompasses a tremendous range of challenges, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | opportunities, frustrations, and joys, and the ultimate rewards, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | intangible though they may be, are among life's most poignant and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | enduring; all mothers share a powerful bond in the love they have |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | for their children, and that love, strong and true, enriches our |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | world beyond measure; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby commemorate Mother's Day 2023, honor all |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | mothers, including the members of this chamber who are moms, and pay |

| 30 | 30 | | tribute to the mothers who have passed on but endure in the memories |
