44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Miranda Williams has distinguished herself in her
66 responsibilities as committee director for the House Committee on
77 Corrections and its chair, State Representative Abel Herrero,
88 during the 88th Legislative Session; and
99 WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Williams has provided
1010 vital assistance in handling a wide variety of responsibilities in
1111 support of Representative Herrero in his role as chair of the
1212 Corrections Committee; she helped organize committee proceedings,
1313 authored reports for bills voted out of the committee, and met with
1414 constituents, advocates, and special-interest groups to discuss
1515 topics relating to criminal justice, prison administration, and
1616 parole and community supervision; and
1717 WHEREAS, Ms. Williams graduated from Bucknell University in
1818 2022 with an economics degree; while enrolled, she served as a
1919 teaching assistant in the school's economics department and as an
2020 intern in its office of communications; and
2121 WHEREAS, Miranda Williams has performed her duties as
2222 committee director with skill and dedication, and she is indeed
2323 deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
2424 be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2626 Legislature hereby commend Miranda Williams for her service as
2727 committee director for the House Committee on Corrections and its
2828 chair, State Representative Abel Herrero, and extend to her sincere
2929 best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it
3030 further
3131 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3232 prepared for Ms. Williams as an expression of high regard by the
3333 Texas House of Representatives.
