| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Miranda Williams has distinguished herself in her |

| 6 | 6 | | responsibilities as committee director for the House Committee on |

| 7 | 7 | | Corrections and its chair, State Representative Abel Herrero, |

| 8 | 8 | | during the 88th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Williams has provided |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of responsibilities in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | support of Representative Herrero in his role as chair of the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Corrections Committee; she helped organize committee proceedings, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | authored reports for bills voted out of the committee, and met with |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | constituents, advocates, and special-interest groups to discuss |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | topics relating to criminal justice, prison administration, and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | parole and community supervision; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Williams graduated from Bucknell University in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 2022 with an economics degree; while enrolled, she served as a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | teaching assistant in the school's economics department and as an |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | intern in its office of communications; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Miranda Williams has performed her duties as |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | committee director with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |
|---|

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby commend Miranda Williams for her service as |
