| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ben Taub Hospital in Houston is celebrating its 60th |

| 6 | 6 | | anniversary on May 24, 2023; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Located in the Texas Medical Center, Ben Taub |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Hospital is an acute care facility and elite Level I trauma center; |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | it features some 400 licensed beds, and it houses the Ginni and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Richard Mithoff Trauma Center, which cares for more than 80,000 |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | emergency patients each year; moreover, the hospital is staffed by |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | physician faculty and residents from Baylor College of medicine, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and it serves as a teaching facility for future health care |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | providers; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, In addition to its trauma, stroke, emergency and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | acute care services, Ben Taub Hospital provides outpatient clinical |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | care in a wide variety of medical specialties; among its many |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | accolades, the hospital has received Comprehensive Stroke Center |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Certification from DNV GL Healthcare as well as the Get With The |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Award and the Target: Stroke |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Honor Roll-Elite Plus award from the American Heart |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Association/American Stroke Association; the hospital has also |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | been named a Chest Pain Center and a Mission: Lifeline Gold Plus |

| 24 | 24 | | Receiving Center for heart attack treatment; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, For six decades, Ben Taub Hospital has remained a |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | trusted source for high-quality care in the Houston area, and the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | sterling reputation it has built is a testament to the many |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | physicians, nurses, associates, and volunteers who have fulfilled |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | its mission of healing; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby commemorate the 60th anniversary of Ben Taub |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Hospital and extend to all those affiliated with the institution |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |

| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
