| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends suffered an immeasurable loss |

| 6 | 6 | | with the tragic passing of Jessica Carol McKinley of Austin on July |

| 7 | 7 | | 4, 2022, at the age of 23; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Toni McKinley and Craig McKinley, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Jessica McKinley was born in Chandler, Arizona, on June 17, 1999, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | and she grew up in Austin with the companionship of three siblings, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Brittney, William, and Matthew; she graduated from McNeil High |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | School in 2017; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A young woman of many interests, Ms. McKinley taught |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | herself sign language and Spanish and how to play piano during her |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | youth; she dreamed of one day attending the Juilliard School of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Music, and she was working to establish a skin care business at the |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | time of her passing; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Ms. McKinley loved nature and animals, and she |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | treasured time spent with her cat, Moo, and her dog, Lemon; she |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | greatly enriched the lives of her family and friends with her warm |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | sense of humor and caring nature, and she was always happy to lend |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | an ear to anyone who needed to talk; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Intelligent, kind, and adventurous, Jessica |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | McKinley brightened the world for all who knew her, and they will |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | forever carry her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Jessica Carol |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | McKinley and extend sincere condolences to the members of her |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | family: to her mother, Toni McKinley; to her father, Craig |

| 30 | 30 | | McKinley; to her siblings, Brittney, William, and Matthew; and to |

| 31 | 31 | | her many other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
