7 | 7 | | District Secondary Principal of the Year; and |

8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her exemplary tenure at |

9 | 9 | | Kennedy-Curry, Ms. Foster has worked tirelessly to achieve the |
---|
10 | 10 | | school's goal of becoming the prototype middle school for |
---|
11 | 11 | | transformation in Dallas ISD; under her able leadership, |
---|
12 | 12 | | Kennedy-Curry boasts a welcoming learning environment that allows |
---|
13 | 13 | | its students to thrive both academically and socially; and |
---|
14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, An alumna of Dallas ISD, Ms. Foster earned a |
---|
15 | 15 | | bachelor's degree in kinesiology and psychology and a master's |
---|
16 | 16 | | degree in special education from Texas A&M University-Commerce, and |
---|
17 | 17 | | she later pursued a second master's degree in educational |
---|
18 | 18 | | administration from Prairie View A&M University; she began her |
---|
19 | 19 | | career in education at O. W. Holmes Middle School and subsequently |
---|
20 | 20 | | taught at Billy Earl Dade Middle; she went on to serve as assistant |
---|
21 | 21 | | principal at Balch Springs Middle School, where she led the English |
---|
22 | 22 | | language arts and reading department and pioneered the opening of |
---|
23 | 23 | | the Young Women's STEAM Academy; she later moved to Skyline High |
---|
24 | 24 | | School before joining the Achieving in the Middle team, which works |
---|
25 | 25 | | to improve academic achievement and culture across 24 middle |
---|
26 | 26 | | schools in Dallas ISD; and |
---|
27 | 27 | | WHEREAS, The commitment to excellence that Shadaria Foster |
---|
28 | 28 | | brings to her endeavors at Kennedy-Curry Academy of Modern Arts has |
---|
29 | 29 | | inspired faculty, staff, and students alike, and she is helping |
---|
30 | 30 | | many young Texans acquire the skills they need to build fulfilling |

31 | 31 | | and productive lives; now, therefore, be it |

32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

33 | 33 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Shadaria Foster on being named the |
