| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Tina Ly of Anahuac High School has been selected for |

| 6 | 6 | | the STEM Enhancement in Earth Science Summer High School Intern |

| 7 | 7 | | Program at The University of Texas at Austin Center for Space |

| 8 | 8 | | Research; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, This nationally competitive program is a |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | collaborative effort of UT Austin and NASA that allows students to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | work with scientists and engineers to conduct research on data |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | received from NASA's earth-observing satellites; in addition, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | participants will complete a Python coding course, design Mars |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | habitats, and analyze images from the International Space Station; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, This year, nearly 2,000 applicants vied for a spot |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | in the program, and Tina Ly was one of only 95 individuals selected |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | to participate; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Exciting opportunities and experiences await this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join in recognizing |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | her for this noteworthy accomplishment; now, therefore, be it |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Tina Ly on her selection for the |
