| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Lauren Harpe of Mont Belvieu has won many fans |

| 6 | 6 | | through her appearance on the popular reality TV program Survivor; |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A long-running series, Survivor is now in its 44th |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | season, which began on March 1, 2023, with a cast of 18 competitors |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | for the title of "Sole Survivor"; and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Harpe made it through numerous challenges to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | become one of just seven remaining players vying to win the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | $1 million grand prize; moreover, she reached that point in the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | season as one of only two contestants to have never received a vote |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | against them at one of the show's Tribal Councils; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Originally from Port Arthur, Ms. Harpe is the mother |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | of two young sons, Christopher and Braxton; she interrupted her |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | education when her children were born, but through perseverance, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | she completed a master's degree; today, she teaches fourth grade in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the Barbers Hill Independent School District; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Back home in Texas, many colleagues, students, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | friends, and family members are rooting for Lauren Harpe in this |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | high-profile competition, and she may indeed take pride in her |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | success thus far; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Lauren Harpe on her participation |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | in Season 44 of television's Survivor and extend to her sincere best |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
