| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Barbers Hill Independent School District has |

| 6 | 6 | | been designated as one of the Best Communities for Music Education |

| 7 | 7 | | for 2023 by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation; |

|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Now in its 24th year, the Best Communities for Music |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Education designation recognizes school districts across the U.S. |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | for their outstanding achievements in providing access to music |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | education for all students; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Barbers Hill ISD has received this notable honor for |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | eight years in a row; the district's fine arts program offers a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | range of music programs, including marching band and choir, and its |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | students put on a number of performances each year and compete in |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Texas Music Educators Association and University Interscholastic |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | League contests; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Barbers Hill ISD has created a learning environment |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | that nurtures the musical talent and creativity of its students, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | and through its pursuit of excellence, the district has earned |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | well-deserved status as a national model for music programs; now, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Barbers Hill Independent |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | School District on receiving a 2023 Best Communities for Music |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Education designation from the National Association of Music |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Merchants Foundation and extend to all those associated with the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | district sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
