5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their |

6 | 6 | | memories of Victor Tinsley of Fort Worth, who passed away on |

7 | 7 | | April 26, 2023, at the age of 87; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A fourth-generation native of Tarrant County, Vic |
---|
9 | 9 | | Tinsley was born in Fort Worth on September 24, 1935, to Victor and |
---|
10 | 10 | | Cleyone Tinsley, and he grew up with a brother, John; he graduated |
---|
11 | 11 | | from Paschal High School and The University of Texas, where he was |
---|
12 | 12 | | president of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and a Silver Spurs |
---|
13 | 13 | | member; he earned a master of business administration degree at |
---|
14 | 14 | | Texas Christian University, and he served with the Texas Air |
---|
15 | 15 | | National Guard from 1958 to 1964; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Tinsley worked for local manufacturers until |
---|
17 | 17 | | 1974, when he became a commercial real estate broker; in 1983, he |
---|
18 | 18 | | cofounded Ellis & Tinsley, Inc., and maintained an office with the |
---|
19 | 19 | | firm after selling his interest in 2013; widely respected, he |
---|
20 | 20 | | served on the boards of the Greater Fort Worth Association of |
---|
21 | 21 | | Realtors and the Society of Commercial Realtors, and he was |
---|
22 | 22 | | appointed by the city council to the Citizens Committee for Fort |
---|
23 | 23 | | Worth's Future; moreover, he taught management and business finance |
---|
24 | 24 | | courses at Tarrant County Junior College; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Tinsley benefited from the |
---|
26 | 26 | | love and support of his family, which included his 3 children, |
---|
27 | 27 | | Laura, Bill, and John, and his 10 grandchildren and 4 |
---|
28 | 28 | | great-grandchildren; he took many hunting and fishing trips to |
---|
29 | 29 | | Alaska, Mexico, and South America, and he enjoyed spending time |
---|
30 | 30 | | with his loved ones on the ranch he bought in Parker County; he was |
---|
31 | 31 | | also an avid reader of Texas and American Southwest history; and |
---|
32 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Admired for his wisdom and quick wit, Vic Tinsley |
---|
33 | 33 | | embraced life to the fullest, and he will long be remembered with |
---|
34 | 34 | | deep affection by all who were fortunate enough to know him; now, |
---|
35 | 35 | | therefore, be it |

36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

37 | 37 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Victor Tinsley and |

38 | 38 | | extend heartfelt condolences to the members of his family: to his |

39 | 39 | | children, Laura Adlis and her husband, David, Bill Tinsley and his |

40 | 40 | | wife, Suzanne, and John C. Tinsley; to his former wife and close |

41 | 41 | | friend, Hope Tinsley; to his grandchildren, Sarah Benedetti, Jacob, |
