44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever cherish their
66 memories of Victor Tinsley of Fort Worth, who passed away on
77 April 26, 2023, at the age of 87; and
88 WHEREAS, A fourth-generation native of Tarrant County, Vic
99 Tinsley was born in Fort Worth on September 24, 1935, to Victor and
1010 Cleyone Tinsley, and he grew up with a brother, John; he graduated
1111 from Paschal High School and The University of Texas, where he was
1212 president of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and a Silver Spurs
1313 member; he earned a master of business administration degree at
1414 Texas Christian University, and he served with the Texas Air
1515 National Guard from 1958 to 1964; and
1616 WHEREAS, Mr. Tinsley worked for local manufacturers until
1717 1974, when he became a commercial real estate broker; in 1983, he
1818 cofounded Ellis & Tinsley, Inc., and maintained an office with the
1919 firm after selling his interest in 2013; widely respected, he
2020 served on the boards of the Greater Fort Worth Association of
2121 Realtors and the Society of Commercial Realtors, and he was
2222 appointed by the city council to the Citizens Committee for Fort
2323 Worth's Future; moreover, he taught management and business finance
2424 courses at Tarrant County Junior College; and
2525 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Tinsley benefited from the
2626 love and support of his family, which included his 3 children,
2727 Laura, Bill, and John, and his 10 grandchildren and 4
2828 great-grandchildren; he took many hunting and fishing trips to
2929 Alaska, Mexico, and South America, and he enjoyed spending time
3030 with his loved ones on the ranch he bought in Parker County; he was
3131 also an avid reader of Texas and American Southwest history; and
3232 WHEREAS, Admired for his wisdom and quick wit, Vic Tinsley
3333 embraced life to the fullest, and he will long be remembered with
3434 deep affection by all who were fortunate enough to know him; now,
3535 therefore, be it
3636 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3737 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Victor Tinsley and
3838 extend heartfelt condolences to the members of his family: to his
3939 children, Laura Adlis and her husband, David, Bill Tinsley and his
4040 wife, Suzanne, and John C. Tinsley; to his former wife and close
4141 friend, Hope Tinsley; to his grandchildren, Sarah Benedetti, Jacob,
4242 Samuel, and Rachel Adlis, Preston Goodall, Madeline, Blake, and
4343 Saige Tinsley, and Kason and Bailey Bakouris; to his
4444 great-grandchildren, Stella and Violet Benedetti and Daniel and
4545 Annika Adlis; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it
4646 further
4747 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4848 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4949 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Vic
5050 Tinsley.
