| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Wesley Holt is retiring as superintendent of the |

| 6 | 6 | | Connally Independent School District on June 30, 2023, drawing to a |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | close an exemplary tenure with the district that has spanned 33 |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | years; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Penelope High School and Baylor |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | University, Mr. Holt has spent the entirety of his career in public |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | education at Connally ISD, where he worked as a classroom teacher, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | coach, bus driver, assistant principal, and director of human |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | resources before taking over as superintendent of schools in 2014; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | since that time, he has led the district in fostering a supportive |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and engaging learning environment that empowers students to build a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | strong foundation for the future; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Retirement will afford Mr. Holt more time to spend |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | with his family, which includes his wife of 33 years, Melissa, his |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | children, Alyssa and Tyler, and his granddaughter, Remi; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Through his leadership, professionalism, and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | commitment to excellence, Wesley Holt has greatly benefited the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | students of Connally ISD and earned the respect and admiration of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | his colleagues, and his contributions to the district will be |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | remembered and appreciated for many years to come; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | be it |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Wesley Holt on his retirement as |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | superintendent of Connally Independent School District and extend |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
