 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Roy Gutierrez retired as superintendent of
 utilities for the City of Robstown Utility Systems on June 30, 2021,
 drawing to a close an exemplary career that spanned more than four
 decades; and
 WHEREAS, First hired in 1976, Mr. Gutierrez held a number of
 positions with the city, including administrative assistant, city
 secretary, and civil service director before becoming
 superintendent of utilities for the City of Robstown Utility
 Systems; over the course of his tenure, he played an instrumental
 role in securing nearly $2 million in grant funding for
 infrastructure improvements, and he helped to eliminate municipal
 debt and to ensure the financial stability of CORUS; and
 WHEREAS, This esteemed public servant has further
 contributed to his fellow citizens as chair of the Robstown Housing
 Authority Board of Directors for 10 years and as a member of several
 other civic and charitable boards; he served for six years on the
 Executive Committee of the Wesley Community Center Board of
 Directors, and he chaired the committee that created the Robstown
 Area Development Commission, on which he served; in addition, he
 was a member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Coastal Bend Board of
 Directors and a charter member of the Corpus Christi Northwest
 Rotary Club; a man of faith, he is a valued congregant of
 St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church; and
 WHEREAS, With his professionalism, dedication, and
 commitment to excellence, Roy Gutierrez has greatly benefited the
 residents of Robstown, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his
 outstanding record of achievement as he begins the next exciting
 chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Roy Gutierrez on his retirement as
 superintendent of utilities for the City of Robstown Utility
 Systems and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and,
 be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Mr. Gutierrez as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
