44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, An exemplary student received well-deserved
66 recognition when Jasmine Crain was named a University of Texas at El
77 Paso Top Ten Senior for 2023; and
88 WHEREAS, Presented by the UTEP Alumni Association, the award
99 recognizes the university's most promising graduating or recently
1010 graduated seniors; honorees are chosen on the basis of multiple
1111 criteria, including academic achievement, involvement, leadership,
1212 and service, both in the community and on campus; and
1313 WHEREAS, While pursuing her studies in philosophy and
1414 creative writing at UTEP, Jasmine Crain has contributed to her
1515 community as a writing tutor and as a volunteer for the Upward Bound
1616 College Prep Program and the Child Crisis Center of El Paso; in
1717 addition, her educational experience has been enriched by her work
1818 with Student Support Services and the Law School Preparation
1919 Institute, as well as her time studying abroad in Rome, Italy;
2020 following her graduation, she plans to attend Cornell Law School;
2121 and
2222 WHEREAS, Through the dedication she has demonstrated in all
2323 her endeavors, Jasmine Crain has built a strong foundation for
2424 continued achievement, and she is indeed deserving of this
2525 prestigious accolade; now, therefore, be it
2626 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2727 Legislature hereby congratulate Jasmine Crain on her receipt of a
2828 2023 Top Ten Seniors Award from the UTEP Alumni Association and
2929 extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
3030 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3131 prepared for Ms. Crain as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3232 House of Representatives.
