| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Homero Roel Villarreal |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | Jr. of Robstown were deeply saddened by his death on September 22, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2020, at the age of 33; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The only child of Homero Roel Villarreal Sr. and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Matilde Amezquita Villarreal, Homer Villarreal was born in Corpus |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Christi on January 15, 1987; he traveled frequently throughout |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | South Texas with his parents as they worked in behalf of civil |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | rights and managed a newspaper, and along the way, he learned about |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | sales, graphic arts, and sociopolitical and economic systems; after |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | graduating from Robstown High School, he attended Del Mar College; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | when applying for a clerical job with a home health business, he |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | walked into the wrong interview room and landed himself a position |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | as its marketing coordinator instead; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Eventually, Mr. Villarreal founded his own |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | marketing and multimedia company, IXPOSE; his charming, outgoing |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | personality served him well in responsibilities that ranged from |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | promoting wrestling to squiring a Chinese business delegation |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | around town; in addition, he served as a marketing representative |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | for actor Pepe Serna, sponsored events for actor Edward James |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Olmos, and edited an independent film, Anastasia; he was especially |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | proud of his anti-bullying film produced for the Robstown |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Independent School District, titled ENOUGH; in his last years, as |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | he battled a terminal illness, he found strength and solace in his |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | faith and defied his doctor's predictions many times; he managed to |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | continue part-time employment in marketing for two dental offices |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | and even set new sales and client recruitment records; and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Villarreal and Selina Benavidez were blessed |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | with two sons, Homer and Nicolas; he later enjoyed a fulfilling |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | relationship with Monica Duran, and they became the parents of two |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | children, Roel and Felix; and |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | WHEREAS, Although Homer Villarreal is deeply missed by those |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | he left behind, they will forever treasure their memories of his |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | unfailing good humor and his warm and thoughtful ways; now, |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | therefore, be it |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Homer Villarreal |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | Jr. and extend sincere sympathy to his loved ones; and, be it |

| 42 | 42 | | further |
|---|
| 43 | 43 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 44 | 44 | | prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
