44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Homero Roel Villarreal
66 Jr. of Robstown were deeply saddened by his death on September 22,
77 2020, at the age of 33; and
88 WHEREAS, The only child of Homero Roel Villarreal Sr. and
99 Matilde Amezquita Villarreal, Homer Villarreal was born in Corpus
1010 Christi on January 15, 1987; he traveled frequently throughout
1111 South Texas with his parents as they worked in behalf of civil
1212 rights and managed a newspaper, and along the way, he learned about
1313 sales, graphic arts, and sociopolitical and economic systems; after
1414 graduating from Robstown High School, he attended Del Mar College;
1515 when applying for a clerical job with a home health business, he
1616 walked into the wrong interview room and landed himself a position
1717 as its marketing coordinator instead; and
1818 WHEREAS, Eventually, Mr. Villarreal founded his own
1919 marketing and multimedia company, IXPOSE; his charming, outgoing
2020 personality served him well in responsibilities that ranged from
2121 promoting wrestling to squiring a Chinese business delegation
2222 around town; in addition, he served as a marketing representative
2323 for actor Pepe Serna, sponsored events for actor Edward James
2424 Olmos, and edited an independent film, Anastasia; he was especially
2525 proud of his anti-bullying film produced for the Robstown
2626 Independent School District, titled ENOUGH; in his last years, as
2727 he battled a terminal illness, he found strength and solace in his
2828 faith and defied his doctor's predictions many times; he managed to
2929 continue part-time employment in marketing for two dental offices
3030 and even set new sales and client recruitment records; and
3131 WHEREAS, Mr. Villarreal and Selina Benavidez were blessed
3232 with two sons, Homer and Nicolas; he later enjoyed a fulfilling
3333 relationship with Monica Duran, and they became the parents of two
3434 children, Roel and Felix; and
3535 WHEREAS, Although Homer Villarreal is deeply missed by those
3636 he left behind, they will forever treasure their memories of his
3737 unfailing good humor and his warm and thoughtful ways; now,
3838 therefore, be it
3939 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
4040 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Homer Villarreal
4141 Jr. and extend sincere sympathy to his loved ones; and, be it
4242 further
4343 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4444 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4545 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Homer
4646 Villarreal.
