5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sergio Coronado was elected as the El Paso County |
---|
6 | 6 | | commissioner for Precinct 4 in November 2022; and |
---|
7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his office, Mr. Coronado |
---|
8 | 8 | | draws on a wealth of valuable experience; a longtime attorney and a |
---|
9 | 9 | | dedicated public servant, he has demonstrated a strong commitment |
---|
10 | 10 | | to the community through the years, serving on the Canutillo |
---|
11 | 11 | | Independent School District Board of Trustees for more than a |
---|
12 | 12 | | decade and a half; he has also given back as a cofounder and member |
---|
13 | 13 | | of the Canutillo Alumni Foundation for Education (CAFÉ), which |
---|
14 | 14 | | provides scholarships to deserving graduates of Canutillo High |
---|
15 | 15 | | School and Northwest Early College High School; and |
---|
16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Learning the value of hard work at an early age, |
---|
17 | 17 | | Mr. Coronado went on to graduate as valedictorian of Canutillo High |
---|
18 | 18 | | School and subsequently earned his bachelor's degree from The |
---|
19 | 19 | | University of Texas at El Paso and his law degree from the UT Austin |
---|
20 | 20 | | School of Law; he began his legal career as a clerk in the |
---|
21 | 21 | | prosecutor assistance section of the Texas Attorney General's |
---|
22 | 22 | | Office, where he later worked as an attorney; he then served as an |
---|
23 | 23 | | assistant county attorney in Travis and El Paso Counties, and |
---|
24 | 24 | | following a tenure with the law office of Grambling & Mounce, he |
---|
25 | 25 | | established his own practice in 1988; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the |
---|
27 | 27 | | able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Sergio |
---|
28 | 28 | | Coronado's skills and experience are sure to serve him well in his |
---|
29 | 29 | | new role; now, therefore, be it |
---|
30 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
31 | 31 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Sergio Coronado on his election as |
---|
32 | 32 | | the El Paso County commissioner for Precinct 4 and extend to him |
---|
33 | 33 | | sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be it further |
