| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dalanna Carter of Barbers Hill High School earned |

| 6 | 6 | | well-deserved recognition with her nomination to the 2023 |

| 7 | 7 | | McDonald's All-American girls' basketball team; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A senior at Barbers Hill, Ms. Carter has excelled |

| 9 | 9 | | throughout her high school career and has become a sought-after |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | recruit for college programs; during the current 2022-2023 season, |

| 11 | 11 | | she has been a dominant force for the Eagles, helping the team climb |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | to the top of the district standings; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, During her sophomore and junior years, Ms. Carter |

| 14 | 14 | | played for Lutheran High North in Houston; she helped lead the Lions |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | to consecutive state championships at the 2021 and 2022 Texas |

| 16 | 16 | | Association of Private and Parochial Schools state tournaments, and |

| 17 | 17 | | she was selected as a private school All-State honoree and the MVP |

| 18 | 18 | | award winner by SBLive; her high school debut came as a freshman |

| 19 | 19 | | player at Barbers Hill, where she earned the district Most Valuable |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Player accolade; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Through hard work and an unwavering commitment to |

| 22 | 22 | | excellence, Dalanna Carter has brought tremendous pride to her |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | school and her community, and her accomplishments on the basketball |

| 24 | 24 | | court truly merit special recognition; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
