44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, it is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of
66 Herlinda Rangel Chacon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother,
77 great-grandmother, and esteemed member of the Uvalde community; and
88 WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon was born on June 2, 1948, in
99 Piedras Negras, Mexico, to Fernando and Petronila Rangel. She
1010 married Mario Chacon on April 26, 1963, in Piedras Negras, Mexico,
1111 and together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage; and
1212 WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon was a devoted mother to her 4
1313 daughters, Rosalinda Chacon of Eagle Pass, Norma Chacon, Lorena
1414 Barrera, and Irma Chacon Barrera of Uvalde, as well as her son,
1515 Mario Chacon, Jr., and wife, Raquel, of Uvalde; and
1616 WHEREAS, she is also survived by her loving sisters, Martina
1717 Cardona of Washington, Maria Elena Rangel, and Leonor Rangel, both
1818 of Piedras Negras, Mexico, and her brother, Fernando Rangel of
1919 Uvalde; and
2020 WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon will be remembered fondly by
2121 her 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces,
2222 nephews, and friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness,
2323 compassion, and warmth; and
2424 WHEREAS, she is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 2
2525 brothers, her granddaughter Nelsy Azeneth Chacon Valdez, and
2626 great-granddaughter Joy Lynn Rangel; and
2727 WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon's life and legacy will be
2828 cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have
2929 known her; and
3030 WHEREAS, the Uvalde community has suffered a great loss with
3131 the passing of Herlinda Rangel Chacon, and it is fitting that we
3232 honor her memory and express our condolences to her family and loved
3333 ones;
3434 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3535 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Herlinda Rangel
3636 Chacon and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family
3737 acknowledging her profound impact on her family, friends, and be it
3838 further
3939 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4040 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4141 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Herlinda
4242 Rangel Chacon.
