5	5	WHEREAS, it is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of
6	6	Herlinda Rangel Chacon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother,
7	7	great-grandmother, and esteemed member of the Uvalde community; and
8	8	WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon was born on June 2, 1948, in
9	9	Piedras Negras, Mexico, to Fernando and Petronila Rangel. She
10	10	married Mario Chacon on April 26, 1963, in Piedras Negras, Mexico,
11	11	and together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage; and
12	12	WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon was a devoted mother to her 4
13	13	daughters, Rosalinda Chacon of Eagle Pass, Norma Chacon, Lorena
14	14	Barrera, and Irma Chacon Barrera of Uvalde, as well as her son,
15	15	Mario Chacon, Jr., and wife, Raquel, of Uvalde; and
16	16	WHEREAS, she is also survived by her loving sisters, Martina
17	17	Cardona of Washington, Maria Elena Rangel, and Leonor Rangel, both
18	18	of Piedras Negras, Mexico, and her brother, Fernando Rangel of
19	19	Uvalde; and
20	20	WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon will be remembered fondly by
21	21	her 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces,
22	22	nephews, and friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness,
23	23	compassion, and warmth; and
24	24	WHEREAS, she is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 2
25	25	brothers, her granddaughter Nelsy Azeneth Chacon Valdez, and
26	26	great-granddaughter Joy Lynn Rangel; and
27	27	WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon's life and legacy will be
28	28	cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have
29	29	known her; and
30	30	WHEREAS, the Uvalde community has suffered a great loss with
31	31	the passing of Herlinda Rangel Chacon, and it is fitting that we
32	32	honor her memory and express our condolences to her family and loved
33	33	ones;
34	34	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
35	35	Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Herlinda Rangel
36	36	Chacon and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family
37	37	acknowledging her profound impact on her family, friends, and be it
38	38	further
39	39	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
40	40	prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
41	41	Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Herlinda
42	42	Rangel Chacon.
