44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of
66 Herlinda Rangel Chacon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother,
77 great-grandmother, and esteemed member of the Uvalde community; and
88 WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon was born on June 2, 1948, in
99 Piedras Negras, Mexico, to Fernando and Petronila Rangel. She
1010 married Mario Chacon on April 26, 1963, in Piedras Negras, Mexico,
1111 and together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage; and
1212 WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon was a devoted mother to her 4
1313 daughters, Rosalinda Chacon of Eagle Pass, Norma Chacon, Irma
1414 Chacon Barrera, Lorena Barrera, and her husband, Eloy Sr., of
1515 Uvalde, as well as her son, Mario Chacon, Jr., and his wife, Raquel,
1616 of Uvalde; and
1717 WHEREAS, She is also survived by her loving sisters, Martina
1818 Cardona of Washington, Maria Elena Rangel, and Leonor Rangel, both
1919 of Piedras Negras, Mexico, and her brother, Fernando Rangel of
2020 Uvalde; and
2121 WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon will be remembered fondly by
2222 her 16 grandchildren including Eloy Jr., 15 great-grandchildren,
2323 numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom were touched by
2424 her kindness, compassion, and warmth; and
2525 WHEREAS, She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 2
2626 brothers, her granddaughter Nelsy Azeneth Chacon Valdez, and
2727 great-granddaughter Joy Lynn Rangel; and
2828 WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon's life and legacy will be
2929 cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have
3030 known her; and
3131 WHEREAS, The Uvalde community has suffered a great loss with
3232 the passing of Herlinda Rangel Chacon, and it is fitting that we
3333 honor her memory and express our condolences to her family and loved
3434 ones; now, therefore, be it
3535 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
3636 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Herlinda Rangel
3737 Chacon and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family
3838 acknowledging her profound impact on her family, friends; and, be
3939 it further
4040 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4141 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4242 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Herlinda
4343 Rangel Chacon.
