5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of |

6 | 6 | | Herlinda Rangel Chacon, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, |
---|
7 | 7 | | great-grandmother, and esteemed member of the Uvalde community; and |
---|
8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon was born on June 2, 1948, in |
---|
9 | 9 | | Piedras Negras, Mexico, to Fernando and Petronila Rangel. She |
---|
10 | 10 | | married Mario Chacon on April 26, 1963, in Piedras Negras, Mexico, |
---|
11 | 11 | | and together they shared 59 wonderful years of marriage; and |
---|
12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon was a devoted mother to her 4 |
---|
13 | 13 | | daughters, Rosalinda Chacon of Eagle Pass, Norma Chacon, Irma |
---|
14 | 14 | | Chacon Barrera, Lorena Barrera, and her husband, Eloy Sr., of |
---|
15 | 15 | | Uvalde, as well as her son, Mario Chacon, Jr., and his wife, Raquel, |
---|
16 | 16 | | of Uvalde; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, She is also survived by her loving sisters, Martina |
---|
18 | 18 | | Cardona of Washington, Maria Elena Rangel, and Leonor Rangel, both |
---|
19 | 19 | | of Piedras Negras, Mexico, and her brother, Fernando Rangel of |
---|
20 | 20 | | Uvalde; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon will be remembered fondly by |
---|
22 | 22 | | her 16 grandchildren including Eloy Jr., 15 great-grandchildren, |
---|
23 | 23 | | numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom were touched by |
---|
24 | 24 | | her kindness, compassion, and warmth; and |
---|
25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, She is preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 2 |
---|
26 | 26 | | brothers, her granddaughter Nelsy Azeneth Chacon Valdez, and |
---|
27 | 27 | | great-granddaughter Joy Lynn Rangel; and |
---|
28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Herlinda Rangel Chacon's life and legacy will be |
---|
29 | 29 | | cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have |
---|
30 | 30 | | known her; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, The Uvalde community has suffered a great loss with |
---|
32 | 32 | | the passing of Herlinda Rangel Chacon, and it is fitting that we |
---|
33 | 33 | | honor her memory and express our condolences to her family and loved |
---|
34 | 34 | | ones; now, therefore, be it |
---|
35 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
36 | 36 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Herlinda Rangel |
---|
37 | 37 | | Chacon and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family |

38 | 38 | | acknowledging her profound impact on her family, friends; and, be |
