| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Collin L. Porter of Scouts BSA Troop No. 8 in |

| 6 | 6 | | Kingwood has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |

| 7 | 7 | | accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor |

| 9 | 9 | | bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting |

| 10 | 10 | | movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria, |

| 11 | 11 | | Mr. Porter earned the requisite 21 merit badges; he also |

| 12 | 12 | | successfully completed an Eagle Scout project that involved |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | repainting and restriping the parking lot at Strawbridge United |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Methodist Church; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The son of Matthew Porter and Hoa Lu-Porter, Collin |

| 16 | 16 | | Porter is a senior at Kingwood High School; he has demonstrated |

| 17 | 17 | | outstanding leadership ability throughout his scouting career, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | serving as troop quartermaster and assistant senior patrol leader, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | and he also completed the Philmont High Adventure Camp; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Porter's dedication to excellence and |

| 21 | 21 | | his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |

| 22 | 22 | | to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Collin L. Porter on achieving the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
