44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, The members of the Houston Park Neighborhood
66 Association in El Paso are making a positive difference in the local
77 community by representing the interests of their neighborhood; and
88 WHEREAS, The Houston Park Neighborhood Association empowers
99 and engages area residents through advocacy and the coordination of
1010 projects and activities; the group strives to build strong
1111 relationships among neighbors, and it serves as a unified voice in
1212 city government; and
1313 WHEREAS, This year marks the 20th anniversary since the City
1414 of El Paso registered its first neighborhood association in 2003,
1515 and today, the city boasts numerous such organizations; as part of
1616 the El Paso community, the Houston Park Neighborhood Association
1717 contributes to the vibrancy and growth of a forward-looking city
1818 that is committed to the safety and beautification of neighborhoods
1919 and to providing residents with outstanding recreational,
2020 cultural, and educational opportunities; and
2121 WHEREAS, The vitality of a community depends in large measure
2222 on the vision and dedication of concerned citizens, and through
2323 their endeavors, the members of the Houston Park Neighborhood
2424 Association are helping to improve the quality of life in El Paso;
2525 now, therefore, be it
2626 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2727 Legislature hereby commend the Houston Park Neighborhood
2828 Association for its service to the El Paso community and extend to
2929 its members sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
3030 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3131 prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
3232 Texas House of Representatives.
