| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Henry Whitlock Davis has distinguished himself in |

| 6 | 6 | | his responsibilities as an administrative and research assistant in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the office of State Representative Ed Thompson during the 88th |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Davis has provided |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | including drafting letters, attending briefings, answering phones, |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | and corresponding with constituents; in addition to gaining |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | valuable experience in the field of public service, he has learned |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Mr. Davis is currently a senior at the University of Denver, where |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | he is pursuing a bachelor's degree in international studies and has |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | been named to the dean's list; he was previously an intern in the |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | office of State Senator Sarah Eckhardt, and he has further served |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | his community as a volunteer with several organizations, including |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Austin Pets Alive, Austin Foundation Communities, and the PALS |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | program at area schools; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Henry Davis has performed his duties as an |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | administrative and legislative research assistant with skill and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | dedication, and he is indeed deserving of special recognition for |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | his fine work; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commend Henry Whitlock Davis for his service as |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | an administrative and legislative research assistant in the office |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | of State Representative Ed Thompson and extend to him sincere best |
