| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The Valle de las Misiones Neighborhood Association |

| 10 | 10 | | empowers and engages area residents through advocacy and the |

| 11 | 11 | | coordination of projects and activities; the group strives to build |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | strong relationships among neighbors, and it serves as a unified |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | voice in city government; and |

| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This year marks the 20th anniversary since the City |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of El Paso registered its first neighborhood association in 2003, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and today, the city boasts numerous such organizations; as part of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the El Paso community, the Valle de las Misiones Neighborhood |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Association contributes to the vibrancy and growth of a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | forward-looking city that is committed to the safety and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | beautification of neighborhoods and to providing residents with |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | outstanding recreational, cultural, and educational opportunities; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | and |

| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, The vitality of a community depends in large measure |

| 24 | 24 | | on the vision and dedication of concerned citizens, and through |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | their endeavors, the members of the Valle de las Misiones |

| 26 | 26 | | Neighborhood Association are helping to improve the quality of life |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | in El Paso; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commend the Valle de las Misiones Neighborhood |

| 30 | 30 | | Association for its service to the El Paso community and extend to |

| 31 | 31 | | its members sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
