| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Kent Ninomiya has distinguished himself in his |

| 6 | 6 | | responsibilities as a legislative aide in the office of State |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Representative Trey Martinez Fischer during the 88th Legislative |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Session; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Ninomiya has provided |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | service, he has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, An honors student, Mr. Ninomiya is graduating from |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | The University of Texas at Austin in May 2023 with a history and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | government degree; this summer, he plans to work for U.S. Senator |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Michael Bennet, and in fall 2023, he will begin his graduate studies |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | at Columbia University; he is the recipient of a Mike A. Myers |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Foundation Scholarship, a UT Government Department Scholarship, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | and a U.S. Department of Education grant to study foreign |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | languages; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Ninomiya completed an internship with the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | campaign team of Texas lieutenant governor candidate Mike Collier, |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | and he worked as a legal assistant for Ninomiya Law in Round Rock; |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | dedicated to helping his fellow citizens, he volunteers in numerous |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | capacities, and in 2022, he launched a fundraiser to support |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Ukrainian refugees; moreover, he has served as a volunteer with |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Goodwill Central Texas of Cedar Park and as an elementary school |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | tutor and volunteer; and |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Kent Ninomiya has performed his duties as a |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | legislative aide with skill and dedication, and he is indeed |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, |
|---|

| 34 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 35 | 35 | | Legislature hereby commend Kent Ninomiya for his service as a |

| 36 | 36 | | legislative aide in the office of State Representative Trey |

| 37 | 37 | | Martinez Fischer and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
