| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Cherished memories remain to comfort the family and |

| 6 | 6 | | friends of Kathleen Kennedy Mazanti, who passed away on April 15, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | 2023, at the age of 80; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The former Kathleen Kennedy was born in Janesville, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Wisconsin, on July 28, 1942, to William and Elizabeth Lewis |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Kennedy, and she grew up with the companionship of six siblings, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Genevieve, Mike, William, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Mary Elaine; she |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | graduated from Pine Bluff High School in Arkansas in 1960; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Following her graduation, Mrs. Mazanti was hired as |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | a flight attendant for Braniff Airways, and she later served as a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | school secretary for Trinity Episcopal School in Pine Bluff; after |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | moving to Texas, she worked in accounting for transport companies |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | in both Austin and the Dallas/Fort Worth area; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Mrs. Mazanti enjoyed a rewarding marriage with her |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | husband, Vincent Mazanti, who preceded her in death; the couple |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | were blessed with 3 children, Susan, Mark, and Sharon, and their |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | family eventually grew to include 8 grandchildren and 17 |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | great-grandchildren; Mrs. Mazanti was admired for her quick wit and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | her kind and gentle nature, and she enjoyed such activities as |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | reading, cooking, and creating art in a variety of media, including |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | stained glass, jewelry, and ink drawings; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Those who were privileged to share in this treasured |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | woman's love and friendship will always remember her with great |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | admiration and affection; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kathleen Kennedy |

| 31 | 31 | | Mazanti and extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of her family: |
