 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
 meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
 of Gilberta P. Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, who passed away on
 October 22, 2022, at the age of 95; and
 WHEREAS, The daughter of Demetrio and Amparo Padilla, the
 former Bertha Padilla was born on October 16, 1927, in Mercedes, and
 she grew up with the companionship of four siblings, Demetrio,
 Francisco, Carmen, and Amparito; and
 WHEREAS, Mrs. Gonzalez moved to Corpus Christi in 1959; she
 worked with her husband, Raul C. Gonzalez, for a number of years in
 their family business, and along the way, she continued her
 education, proudly earning her GED in 1981; a woman of strong faith,
 she demonstrated an unwavering commitment to prayer; she had a
 passion for singing that she discovered while attending church
 services during her youth, and she was also known for her love of
 cooking; and
 WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to her family, Mrs. Gonzalez took
 great pride in her children, Frank, Raul Jr., Demetrio, Bertha,
 Alicia, Abraham, Sylvia, Gloria, and Elias; as the years passed,
 she was blessed with 32 grandchildren, including Joshua and
 Michael, whom she raised from childhood, as well as 63
 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren; and
 WHEREAS, Bertha Gonzalez brightened the world for all who
 knew her, and they will forever hold her close in their hearts; now,
 therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Gilberta P. Gonzalez
 and extend heartfelt condolences to all those who mourn her
 passing; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bertha
 Gonzalez.
