| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, David Melendez has distinguished himself as an |

| 6 | 6 | | outstanding example of the entrepreneurial spirit of the Lone Star |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Melendez established Custom Caskets and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Containers in Peñitas in May 2008, and the business has since |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | offered a wide variety of custom caskets and other items to numerous |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | clients in the South Texas region; in addition, Mr. Melendez has |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | generously donated caskets to families in need; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Over the past 15 years, David Melendez has proven |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | himself a business leader of great drive and compassion, and he may |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | take pride in the important service he provides to his fellow |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | residents; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Legislature hereby recognize David Melendez for his contributions |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | to the Peñitas community as the owner of Custom Caskets and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Containers and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
