| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Ellery A. Richard is being honored on June 11, 2023, |

| 6 | 6 | | for his 19 years of dedicated service as the pastor of Second Shiloh |

| 7 | 7 | | Missionary Baptist Church in Houston; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A native of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Ellery Richard |

| 9 | 9 | | attended Houston Baptist University, where he studied accounting |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | and theology; he began his career as an associate minister at Live |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Oak Baptist Church; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In 2004, he took the helm of Second Shiloh |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Missionary Baptist Church, and under his leadership, the church has |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | established a variety of commendable programs that encourage |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | fellowship and provide help to those in need; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Pastor Richard enjoys the love |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and support of his wife, Sheila, and he takes great pride in his two |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | sons, Tyrell and Evan, as well as in his three grandchildren, Evan, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Madison, and Kason; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, This inspiring clergyman has led Second Shiloh |

| 21 | 21 | | Missionary Baptist Church with conviction and compassion, and he |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | has earned the lasting respect and admiration of his congregants as |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | well as members of the greater community; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Pastor Ellery A. Richard on the |

| 26 | 26 | | joyous occasion of his 19th anniversary with Second Shiloh |
