8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, One of the largest startup incubators and |

9 | 9 | | entrepreneurial resource centers in the Rio Grande Valley, the |

10 | 10 | | eBridge Center works to commercialize scalable businesses, create |
---|
11 | 11 | | local jobs, establish entrepreneurial equity, and develop an open |
---|
12 | 12 | | and inclusive ecosystem for all entrepreneurs; and |
---|
13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The eBridge Center offers business incubation |
---|
14 | 14 | | programming from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley |
---|
15 | 15 | | Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center, and it encompasses |
---|
16 | 16 | | a U.S. Patent and Trademark Resource Center, the Small Business |
---|
17 | 17 | | Development Center, the Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center, |
---|
18 | 18 | | Procurement Technical Assistance Center, Veterans Business |
---|
19 | 19 | | Outreach Center, Nonprofit Resource Center, and the Blueprint Lab |
---|
20 | 20 | | Prototyping Space for research and development of emerging |
---|
21 | 21 | | industries; in addition, the eBridge Center has received a Soft |
---|
22 | 22 | | Landings designation from InBIA, and it is home to the StartUp Texas |

23 | 23 | | Accelerator Program; and |

24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The establishment of the eBridge Center for Business |

25 | 25 | | and Commercialization was made possible through a collaborative |

26 | 26 | | partnership between the Brownsville Community Improvement |

27 | 27 | | Corporation, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, the City of |
---|
28 | 28 | | Brownsville, the United States Economic Development |
---|
29 | 29 | | Administration, the United States Small Business Administration, |
---|
30 | 30 | | and the Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council; and |
---|
31 | 31 | | WHEREAS, The eBridge Center for Business and |

32 | 32 | | Commercialization has benefited the community by providing |

33 | 33 | | essential support to area businesses and entrepreneurs, and the |

34 | 34 | | organization is indeed deserving of special recognition for its |

35 | 35 | | many achievements; now, therefore, be it |

36 | 36 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

37 | 37 | | Legislature hereby recognize the eBridge Center for Business and |

38 | 38 | | Commercialization for its contributions to the Brownsville and Rio |
