| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Brandon W. Barrera took office as the Kleberg County |

| 6 | 6 | | justice of the peace for Precinct No. 2 on January 1, 2023, |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | following his win in the November 2022 general election; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his office, Judge |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Barrera draws on a wealth of public and professional experience; he |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | was employed as a funeral attendant with Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Kingsville for six years, and he is also a licensed insurance agent; |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | he has further served his community as president of the South Texas |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Water Authority, as secretary of the Kleberg County Appraisal |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | District Board of Directors, and as a member of the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Kingsville-Kleberg Joint Airport Zoning Board; moreover, he |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | chaired the Kleberg County Republican Party; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Barrera holds a bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | communications from Texas A&M University-Kingsville; he is a member |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | of Kingsville Elks Lodge No. 1926 and a third-degree knight with |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the Knights of Columbus; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Brandon |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Barrera may reflect with pride on his accomplishments as he takes on |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | the challenges of his new office; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Brandon W. Barrera on his election |
