44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Brandon W. Barrera took office as the Kleberg County
66 justice of the peace for Precinct No. 2 on January 1, 2023,
77 following his win in the November 2022 general election; and
88 WHEREAS, In fulfilling the duties of his office, Judge
99 Barrera draws on a wealth of public and professional experience; he
1010 was employed as a funeral attendant with Turcotte-Piper Mortuary in
1111 Kingsville for six years, and he is also a licensed insurance agent;
1212 he has further served his community as president of the South Texas
1313 Water Authority, as secretary of the Kleberg County Appraisal
1414 District Board of Directors, and as a member of the
1515 Kingsville-Kleberg Joint Airport Zoning Board; moreover, he
1616 chaired the Kleberg County Republican Party; and
1717 WHEREAS, Mr. Barrera holds a bachelor's degree in
1818 communications from Texas A&M University-Kingsville; he is a member
1919 of Kingsville Elks Lodge No. 1926 and a third-degree knight with
2020 the Knights of Columbus; and
2121 WHEREAS, The effective operation of government depends on the
2222 able and dedicated efforts of our public servants, and Brandon
2323 Barrera may reflect with pride on his accomplishments as he takes on
2424 the challenges of his new office; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2626 Legislature hereby congratulate Brandon W. Barrera on his election
2727 as the Kleberg County justice of the peace for Precinct No. 2 and
2828 extend to him sincere best wishes for a successful tenure; and, be
2929 it further
3030 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3131 prepared for Mr. Barrera as an expression of high regard by the
3232 Texas House of Representatives.
