 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Independent businesses are important to the
 prosperity of cities throughout Texas, and one such business,
 Julio's Seasoning & Corn Chips, has contributed to the vitality and
 economic well-being of the Del Rio community for nearly four
 decades; and
 WHEREAS, Julio's Seasoning & Corn Chips was founded in 1985
 by Julio T. Garcia; the former head chef of the Branding Iron Steak
 House, Mr. Garcia began making corn tortilla chips while helping
 his wife, Lilia, with her catering business; he and his children
 initially made and sold chips out of the family kitchen in Del Rio,
 and as their customer base grew through word of mouth, they set up a
 makeshift commercial kitchen in the garage; the company
 subsequently built a 5,500-square-foot manufacturing plant and
 restaurant, and it further expanded its capacity in 2019 with the
 construction of another 33,000-square-foot facility; and
 WHEREAS, Remaining a family-owned company under the
 leadership of Mr. Garcia's son, Miguel, Julio's Seasoning & Corn
 Chips has developed into a flourishing business with some 90
 employees and nationwide distribution; it is best known for its
 seasoned corn chips, which gain their distinctive Tex-Mex flavor
 from a secret seasoning blend created by Julio Garcia, and its line
 of products also includes other seasonings and salsas; and
 WHEREAS, Providing jobs and valuable services to the region,
 Julio's Seasoning & Corn Chips is a Lone Star success story, and the
 Garcia family and their employees may indeed take pride in their
 achievements over the years; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby recognize Julio's Seasoning & Corn Chips and
 extend to all those associated with the company sincere best wishes
 for continued success; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Julio's Seasoning & Corn Chips as an expression of high
 regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
