 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The members of the Coppell High School girls' golf
 team distinguished themselves through their participation in the
 2023 University Interscholastic League Golf State Tournament; and
 WHEREAS, Guided by head coach Jan Bourg, the Cowgirl golfers
 earned their trip to state with an exceptional showing at the Class
 6A Region 1 tournament held at Tangle Ridge Golf Club in Grand
 Prairie on April 17 and 18; the team carded a two-day total of 606,
 overcoming inclement weather to capture the regional title and
 punch its ticket to the state tournament for the first time since
 2015; and
 WHEREAS, The Cowgirls joined the other top 6A squads on May 15
 and 16 at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown; the Coppell
 contingent was paced by Alicia Bellendir, who shot a two-day total
 of 146, just six strokes off of the state championship pace; she was
 followed by Riya Bapna at 152, Nethra Sheri at 154, Rylie Allison at
 164, and Kirstin Angosta at 165; with a combined score of 610, the
 Cowgirls claimed seventh place in the team standings; and
 WHEREAS, By earning the right to compete in the state's
 premier showcase for high school golfers, these determined young
 Texans have ably represented their school and community, and they
 may indeed reflect with pride on their notable accomplishments;
 now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the Coppell High School girls' golf
 team on its participation in the 2023 UIL Golf State Tournament and
 extend to all those associated with the team sincere best wishes for
 the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the Cowgirls as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
