| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Coppell High School girls' golf |

| 7 | 7 | | 2023 University Interscholastic League Golf State Tournament; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Guided by head coach Jan Bourg, the Cowgirl golfers |

| 9 | 9 | | earned their trip to state with an exceptional showing at the Class |

| 10 | 10 | | 6A Region 1 tournament held at Tangle Ridge Golf Club in Grand |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Prairie on April 17 and 18; the team carded a two-day total of 606, |

| 12 | 12 | | overcoming inclement weather to capture the regional title and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | punch its ticket to the state tournament for the first time since |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | 2015; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, The Cowgirls joined the other top 6A squads on May 15 |

| 16 | 16 | | and 16 at Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown; the Coppell |

| 17 | 17 | | contingent was paced by Alicia Bellendir, who shot a two-day total |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | of 146, just six strokes off of the state championship pace; she was |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | followed by Riya Bapna at 152, Nethra Sheri at 154, Rylie Allison at |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | 164, and Kirstin Angosta at 165; with a combined score of 610, the |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Cowgirls claimed seventh place in the team standings; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, By earning the right to compete in the state's |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | premier showcase for high school golfers, these determined young |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Texans have ably represented their school and community, and they |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | may indeed reflect with pride on their notable accomplishments; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Coppell High School girls' golf |

| 29 | 29 | | team on its participation in the 2023 UIL Golf State Tournament and |

| 30 | 30 | | extend to all those associated with the team sincere best wishes for |
