| 7 | 7 | | the national championship at the 2023 NASP Western Nationals; and |

| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Competing in the National Archery in the Schools |

| 9 | 9 | | Program meet on April 28 and 29 in Sandy, Utah, Highland Park's |

| 10 | 10 | | No. 1 fifth-grade team turned in an exceptional performance; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | compiling a final score of 3,169, the Scotties emerged triumphant |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | in the 13-team field to clinch the first national archery title in |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the school's history; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, Highland Park's No. 2 fifth-grade team also |

| 15 | 15 | | excelled at nationals, securing a sixth-place finish with a final |

| 16 | 16 | | tally of 2,922; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Archery has been an important part of student life |

| 18 | 18 | | at Highland Park Elementary since first being introduced to the |

| 19 | 19 | | curriculum in 2013, and the Scotties made their first appearance at |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | nationals in 2017; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Winning a national championship represents the |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | commitment to excellence, and these outstanding young Texans will |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | treasure the memory of this accomplishment for the rest of their |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | lives; now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 27 | 27 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Highland Park Elementary |
