7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, A leader in the city's legal community and a |

8 | 8 | | longtime champion of women in the profession, Krisi Kastl |

9 | 9 | | implemented a number of new initiatives during her tenure, |

10 | 10 | | including the Trailblazers Program, CLE Abroad to the Netherlands, |
---|
11 | 11 | | and the Cannabis Law and Education Law Study Groups; the Dallas LGBT |

12 | 12 | | Bar Association became an official affinity bar with a voting |

13 | 13 | | director position for president and advisory director position for |
---|
14 | 14 | | president-elect of the DBA; moreover, she expanded the Relaunch! |
---|
15 | 15 | | Program; she also took the Dallas Bar Board and distinguished |

16 | 16 | | guests to El Paso for the DBA Board Retreat, and they visited The |

17 | 17 | | University of Texas at El Paso, L&J Cafe, Hotel Paso del Norte, and |

18 | 18 | | the State Line; the Law Day Luncheon included an interview with |

19 | 19 | | Dallas Mavericks CEO Cynt Marshall, who presented all the award |

20 | 20 | | winners with tickets to a team game; and |

21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Previously, Ms. Kastl served as president of the |
---|
22 | 22 | | Dallas Women Lawyers Association and of Texas Women Lawyers; she is |
---|
23 | 23 | | also a former chair of the American Association for Justice Women |
---|
24 | 24 | | Trial Lawyers Caucus, and she has served on the boards of the Texas |
---|
25 | 25 | | Trial Lawyers Association and the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association; |
---|
26 | 26 | | she has further given of her time and expertise to many other |
---|
27 | 27 | | professional organizations, among them the Dallas Hispanic Bar |
---|
28 | 28 | | Association and the Dallas Asian American Bar Association; and |
---|
29 | 29 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Kastl is the founder of Kastl Law, P.C., a |

30 | 30 | | plaintiff's personal injury firm; with more than two decades of |
---|
31 | 31 | | experience, she has advocated for over 6,000 clients and tried |
---|
32 | 32 | | upwards of 75 cases that have gone to jury verdict; she holds |
---|
33 | 33 | | degrees from The University of Texas at El Paso, Texas Tech |
---|
34 | 34 | | University School of Law, and Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College, |

35 | 35 | | and she is a certified mediator; and |
---|
36 | 36 | | WHEREAS, Through her deep commitment to the legal profession, |

37 | 37 | | Krisi Kastl has earned the lasting respect and admiration of her |

38 | 38 | | peers, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her work in |

39 | 39 | | advancing the important mission of the Dallas Bar Association; now, |

41 | 41 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

42 | 42 | | Legislature hereby honor Kristina N. Kastl for her service as |
