| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Trace Johannesen was sworn in as mayor of the City of |

| 6 | 6 | | Rockwall on May 6, 2023; and |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Johannesen brings to his new role a wealth of |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | knowledge and experience; prior to being named mayor, he was a |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | member of the Rockwall City Council for three terms and was mayor |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | pro tem for more than a year; his civic contributions have also |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | included serving as the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | council liaison and as a member of the Rockwall Emergency Services |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Corporation board and the finance and airport board committees; in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | addition, he has given generously of his time and talents to such |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | organizations as the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, 100 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Business Leaders of Rockwall County, and Rockwall County Republican |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | Men's Club; and |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed public servant is a graduate of |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Texas A&M University, and he is currently a senior client partner |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | at Toptal; a fourth-generation U.S. Marine, he is a veteran of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Operation Iraqi Freedom, with a total of five years on active duty; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | today, he gives back to his fellow veterans as second vice commander |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | of Terry Fisher American Legion Post 117, and he is also a founding |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | member of the Rockwall Veterans Business Alliance; and |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Johannesen benefits from |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | the love and support of his wife, Amy, as well as their five |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | children, Kassidy, Joshua, Cash, Roman, and Caroline; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS, A committed champion of his community, Trace |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Johannesen can reflect with great pride on his contributions to its |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | strength and prosperity as he takes on this challenging new role; |

| 32 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
