6 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Tom Schwenk, a broker and owner of Coldwell Banker |

7 | 7 | | TGRE in Galveston, was inducted into the Realtor Political Action |

8 | 8 | | Committee (RPAC) Hall of Fame at the REALTORS Legislative Meetings, |
---|
9 | 9 | | which took place in Washington, D.C., from May 6-11, 2023; and |
---|
10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The RPAC Hall of Fame recognizes Realtors who have |
---|
11 | 11 | | made significant contributions to the organization over the course |
---|
12 | 12 | | of their careers; this marks Mr. Schwenk's second time being |
---|
13 | 13 | | inducted into the RPAC Hall of Fame, having previously received |
---|
14 | 14 | | this honor in 2018; and |
---|
15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, After retiring as the vice president of sales and |
---|
16 | 16 | | marketing for a home furnishings company, Mr. Schwenk earned his |
---|
17 | 17 | | real estate license in 2003; he founded Coldwell Banker TGRE five |
---|
18 | 18 | | years ago and now has 16 team members in his office; furthermore, he |
---|
19 | 19 | | is a successful residential and commercial leasing agent and |
---|
20 | 20 | | property manager; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Schwenk has served as the political involvement |
---|
22 | 22 | | chair for Texas Realtors, a role in which he has dedicated himself |
---|
23 | 23 | | to protecting the rights of Texas property owners; he was |
---|
24 | 24 | | previously president of the Galveston Association of Realtors, |
---|
25 | 25 | | which named him its Realtor of the Year in 2015; and |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Actively involved in his community, Mr. Schwenk is a |
---|
27 | 27 | | former chair of the Landmark Commission for the City of Galveston, |
---|
28 | 28 | | as well as a former president of the Galveston Historical |
---|
29 | 29 | | Foundation; moreover, he has been named a Paul Harris Fellow of the |
---|
30 | 30 | | Rotary Club of Galveston Island, and he currently volunteers his |
---|
31 | 31 | | time as vice chair of the Galveston College Foundation and as a |
---|
32 | 32 | | board member for the Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County; |
---|
33 | 33 | | and |
---|
34 | 34 | | WHEREAS, In recognition of his generous support for |
---|
35 | 35 | | charitable causes and historical preservation efforts, Mr. Schwenk |
---|
36 | 36 | | has received such accolades as a 2019 Service Award from the |
---|
37 | 37 | | Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council and a 2018 Vic Pierson |
---|
38 | 38 | | Award from the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce, which also |
---|
39 | 39 | | honored him as a Community Hero in 2017; and |
---|
40 | 40 | | WHEREAS, Tom Schwenk has earned the respect and admiration of |
---|
41 | 41 | | his fellow citizens and his peers in the real estate industry, and |
---|
42 | 42 | | he may indeed reflect with pride on his wide-ranging |
---|
43 | 43 | | accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
---|
44 | 44 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
---|
45 | 45 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Tom Schwenk on his induction into |
---|
46 | 46 | | the RPAC Hall of Fame and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
---|
47 | 47 | | future; and, be it further |
---|
48 | 48 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

49 | 49 | | prepared for Mr. Schwenk as an expression of high regard by the |
