55 R E S O L U T I O N
66 WHEREAS, Tom Schwenk, a broker and owner of Coldwell Banker
77 TGRE in Galveston, was inducted into the Realtor Political Action
88 Committee (RPAC) Hall of Fame at the REALTORS Legislative Meetings,
99 which took place in Washington, D.C., from May 6-11, 2023; and
1010 WHEREAS, The RPAC Hall of Fame recognizes Realtors who have
1111 made significant contributions to the organization over the course
1212 of their careers; this marks Mr. Schwenk's second time being
1313 inducted into the RPAC Hall of Fame, having previously received
1414 this honor in 2018; and
1515 WHEREAS, After retiring as the vice president of sales and
1616 marketing for a home furnishings company, Mr. Schwenk earned his
1717 real estate license in 2003; he founded Coldwell Banker TGRE five
1818 years ago and now has 16 team members in his office; furthermore, he
1919 is a successful residential and commercial leasing agent and
2020 property manager; and
2121 WHEREAS, Mr. Schwenk has served as the political involvement
2222 chair for Texas Realtors, a role in which he has dedicated himself
2323 to protecting the rights of Texas property owners; he was
2424 previously president of the Galveston Association of Realtors,
2525 which named him its Realtor of the Year in 2015; and
2626 WHEREAS, Actively involved in his community, Mr. Schwenk is a
2727 former chair of the Landmark Commission for the City of Galveston,
2828 as well as a former president of the Galveston Historical
2929 Foundation; moreover, he has been named a Paul Harris Fellow of the
3030 Rotary Club of Galveston Island, and he currently volunteers his
3131 time as vice chair of the Galveston College Foundation and as a
3232 board member for the Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County;
3333 and
3434 WHEREAS, In recognition of his generous support for
3535 charitable causes and historical preservation efforts, Mr. Schwenk
3636 has received such accolades as a 2019 Service Award from the
3737 Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council and a 2018 Vic Pierson
3838 Award from the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce, which also
3939 honored him as a Community Hero in 2017; and
4040 WHEREAS, Tom Schwenk has earned the respect and admiration of
4141 his fellow citizens and his peers in the real estate industry, and
4242 he may indeed reflect with pride on his wide-ranging
4343 accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
4444 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
4545 Legislature hereby congratulate Tom Schwenk on his induction into
4646 the RPAC Hall of Fame and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
4747 future; and, be it further
4848 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4949 prepared for Mr. Schwenk as an expression of high regard by the
5050 Texas House of Representatives.
