| 7 | 7 | | in Texas by winning the 5A championship at the 2023 University |

| 8 | 8 | | Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet; and |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors at |

| 10 | 10 | | Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, the Buffs outscored their |

| 11 | 11 | | nearest competitors by six points to claim their second consecutive |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | 5A crown; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, The Marshall runners captured a pair of medals in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the relay races; the 400-meter squad of Arveyon Davis, Devin |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Wilkerson, William Mitchell, and Kameron Williams finished with a |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | time of 40.71 seconds to claim third place, while the 1,600-meter |

| 17 | 17 | | quartet of Mason Roseboro, Mr. Wilkerson, Mr. Williams, and Nolen |

| 18 | 18 | | Richie clocked in at 3 minutes, 17.11 seconds, to earn another |
|---|

| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In the individual events, Mr. Davis clinched a gold |

| 21 | 21 | | medal in the 110-meter hurdles with a blistering pace of 13.55 |

| 23 | 23 | | fifth in the 300-meter hurdles; moreover, in the 400-meter sprint, |

| 24 | 24 | | Mr. Roseboro crossed the finish line in 49.35 seconds to earn fifth |

| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, The Buffs were ably guided by head coach Lloyd |

| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Through skill, hard work, and an enduring commitment |

| 31 | 31 | | to excellence, the members of the Thurgood Marshall High School |

| 33 | 33 | | state champions, and they may reflect with pride on a job well done; |
