| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Karen Campion of Bryan was elected president of |
|---|
| 6 | 6 | | the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards at its 96th Annual |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Congress held in West Palm Beach, Florida, in April 2023; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, As president of FCLB, Dr. Campion will be |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | responsible for guiding the organization in maintaining high, |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | uniform standards related to chiropractic licensure, regulation, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | discipline, and education; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Campion brings to the position a wealth of |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | experience and expertise in the field of chiropractic, as well as a |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | strong background in leadership; she previously served the FCLB as |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | board chair in 2021 and 2022, and she was also its District IV |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | regional director; in addition, she served from 2016 to 2018 as vice |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | president of the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiners; she has |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | been an active member of the Texas Chiropractic Association and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | received its highest honor, the Keeler Plaque, in 2022; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, A 1989 graduate of Texas Chiropractic College, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Dr. Campion opened her practice in College Station that same year; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | she earned certification as a Chiropractic Sports Practitioner, and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | she is a Fellow of the International Academy of Medical |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Acupuncture; although she retired in 2021, she continues to |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | practice on a part-time basis; and |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Karen Campion has demonstrated an exceptional |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | commitment to her profession and to the important work of the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards, and her new role will |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | allow her to make further contributions to the advancement of |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | chiropractic in Texas and beyond; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Karen Campion on her election |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | as president of the Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards and |

| 34 | 34 | | extend to her sincere best wishes for a successful tenure in office; |
