| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Midiam Espinosa of Duncanville High School has been |

| 6 | 6 | | named the 2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Duncanville |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Independent School District; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Espinosa teaches AP Spanish literature at |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Duncanville High School, and over the course of her six-year |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | tenure, she has distinguished herself as department chair, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | department curriculum coordinator, advanced placement coordinator, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and mentor; she has also served as sponsor of the Spanish Club and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | as a member of the Multicultural Committee; the recipient of an AP |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Educator Excellence Award in 2022, she holds a bachelor's degree |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | from Texas Woman's University and a master's degree from The |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | University of Texas at Arlington; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Midiam Espinosa exemplifies the passion, |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Midiam Espinosa on her selection as |

| 27 | 27 | | the 2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Duncanville |

| 28 | 28 | | Independent School District and extend to her sincere best wishes |
