44 R E S O L U T I O N
55 WHEREAS, Midiam Espinosa of Duncanville High School has been
66 named the 2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Duncanville
77 Independent School District; and
88 WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to
99 become successful and productive adults, and those men and women
1010 who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference
1111 in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and
1212 WHEREAS, Ms. Espinosa teaches AP Spanish literature at
1313 Duncanville High School, and over the course of her six-year
1414 tenure, she has distinguished herself as department chair,
1515 department curriculum coordinator, advanced placement coordinator,
1616 and mentor; she has also served as sponsor of the Spanish Club and
1717 as a member of the Multicultural Committee; the recipient of an AP
1818 Educator Excellence Award in 2022, she holds a bachelor's degree
1919 from Texas Woman's University and a master's degree from The
2020 University of Texas at Arlington; and
2121 WHEREAS, Midiam Espinosa exemplifies the passion,
2222 determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our
2323 best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all
2424 in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it
2525 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2626 Legislature hereby congratulate Midiam Espinosa on her selection as
2727 the 2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Duncanville
2828 Independent School District and extend to her sincere best wishes
2929 for continued success with her important work; and, be it further
3030 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3131 prepared for Ms. Espinosa as an expression of high regard by the
3232 Texas House of Representatives.
