| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, LifeLine Shelter for Families, a charity that |

| 6 | 6 | | provides assistance to families with children attending schools in |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the Grand Prairie Independent School District, is holding its 20th |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | annual Freedom Luncheon on June 8, 2023; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The nonprofit organization was established in 2003 |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | by Angela Giessner, who sought to address homelessness among |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | schoolchildren in Grand Prairie; her organization began partnering |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | with Grand Prairie ISD to help families pay their rent, utilities, |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | and other expenses, and to date, it has made a difference in the |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | lives of thousands of local children; its annual Freedom Luncheon |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | is only one of the organization's initiatives designed to raise |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | money for families experiencing homelessness, and today it serves |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | approximately 150 families, including some 400 children, in the |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | area each year; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, For two decades, LifeLine Shelter has been extending |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | a helping hand to Grand Prairie residents in need, and its Freedom |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Luncheon plays a significant role in enabling the organization to |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | pursue its important mission; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby honor LifeLine Shelter for Families on the |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | occasion of its 20th annual Freedom Luncheon and extend to all those |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | associated with the organization sincere best wishes for continued |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | success; and, be it further |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | prepared for LifeLine Shelter for Families as an expression of high |
|---|
