| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The University of Houston has provided the Texas |

| 6 | 6 | | Legislature with an impressive group of Fellows from its Hobby |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | School of Public Affairs during the 88th Session; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Hobby Fellowship program was launched in 2013 to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | give undergraduate students the opportunity to work as full-time |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | interns in the Texas Capitol; each Fellow is assigned to the office |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | of a state legislator and helps support its operations by attending |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | meetings and hearings, interacting with constituents and other |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | stakeholders, and carrying out a range of other functions; in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | service, they learn more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The dedicated students who have served as Hobby |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | Fellows during the 88th Legislature are Rohit Shajan, Marie McGrew, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | Kryss Schofield, Esme Ledezma, Andrea Cubillos, Reynaldo "Ernie" |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Perez, Aaron Rollins, Cyrus Hosseini, Andrea Ellis, Adrian |

| 21 | 21 | | Hernandez, and Mariela Rea; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Through their hard work and commitment to |

| 23 | 23 | | excellence, the 2023 Hobby Fellows have rendered invaluable service |

| 24 | 24 | | to their respective legislative offices, and they are indeed |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | deserving of special recognition for their efforts; now, therefore, |

| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
